Originally starting his career in the offshore sector and then maritime industrial relations, Mr Simon Bennett has worked in ICS for over 30 years, representing the global industry, variously, at IMO, ILO, the UN in New York, WTO, OECD and APEC. He was appointed Deputy Secretary General in 2018. He currently is responsible for the development of ICS shipping policy and for the past 10 years has been actively involved in the IMO GHG negotiations. He has a degree in History from Oxford University and lives in east London .
