Making its debut as part of Singapore Safety@Sea Week 2026, the Crew Safety Awareness Workshop is jointly organised by MPA, the Singapore Maritime Academy (SMA), and MPA-Industry Safety Work Groups under the National Maritime Safety at Sea Council (NMSSC). This workshop is tailered for crew operating in Singapore waters, including harbour craft, regional ferry, and pleasure craft personnel.
Designed to strengthen safety awareness among frontline crew, the workshop features interactive, scenario-based sessions covering a range of topics, from battery fire safety and the proper maintenance, inspection, and donning of personal flotation devices, to emergency drills including jetty jump procedures and lifejacket activation protocols.
Please note:
The programme includes water activities. Participants will be required to wear life jackets and take part in emergency drills such as a supervised jetty jump, sea survival techniques, and life raft embarkation and disembarkation from water.
