An avid maritime advocate with a lifelong connection to Singapore's waterways, Mr Wong serves as the Commodore of the ⁠Republic of Singapore Yacht Club (RSYC). His firsthand experience with the region’s marine landscape spans from rowing sampans and beach fishing in his youth to modern recreational boating.

Professionally, he graduated from Fresno State University in 1983 and built a robust career in large-scale operations, directing over 1,000 personnel across the electronics sector and the food industry. Managing complex interfaces between people and industrial machinery instilled in him a strict "safety first" operational philosophy. As Commodore of Singapore's oldest yacht club, he is deeply committed to promoting navigational safety and fostering stakeholder collaboration within Singapore’s highly congested sea spaces.
